Sarashay is an absolutely beautiful 57ft traditional stern narrowboat. The hull was built by Mike Christian and the fit-out is by Dobsons and completed in December 2004.
She has been owned by the same couple since new and for the last three years has provided a floating home for them. Ill health has meant that they now very reluctantly wish to sell Sarashay.
She is in superb condition and has been meticulously maintained regardless of cost.
There is a fixed double berth and the dinette converts to a second double making her a true four berth home.
Although Sarashay is a Traditional Style Stern she does have an extra wide hatch meaning that she can be used in a similar way to a Semi-Traditional layout.
Engine & Systems
Powered by an Isuzu 38hp engine which has a full service history, there are less than 2,000 hours ‘on the clock’. The engine has twin 70A alternators and drives the shaft through a PRM 150D2 hydraulic gearbox and Centaflex coupling.
Two 100W solar panels are installed to the roof and an intelligent controller/monitor is installed. There is also a Sterling 10A battery charger/power-pack.
There are 230V sockets throughout and power is supplied from either a shore power connection or the 2.5kW Sterling inverter.
There are 5 domestic batteries and a separate engine start battery.
Bathroom and Galley
The bathroom is equipped with a bath with shower over and a separate vanity sink. The Thetford C200 toilet comes with three cassettes, one of which is brand new. The galley has a Vantette hob and a separate oven/grill unit. There is a 12V fridge and importantly, Sarashay is fitted with a Daewoo washing machine installed in the galley. Hot water is supplied by a calorifier which is heated by the engine, by the Alde boiler and by an immersion heater. There is a stainless-steel water tank (120 gallons).
Warm and Welcoming
Upholstery is of the highest standard and internally, Sarashay is light and airy with side doors to the starboard side (a clip-in ‘see through’ panel can be fitted to provide even more light to the galley area whilst keeping out draughts) and split, farmhouse style doors to the bow. The hull is insulated by spray-foam and with a Villager solid fuel burner and Alde gas central heating, in the colder months, Sarashay is a warm and inviting place to be.
Ready To Go
Ideal for continual cruising, live-aboard use or just for family get-aways, Sarashay is fully equipped and comes with all of the necessary cruising equipment and even a set of spares and maintenance parts.
There is a full user manual with operating instructions for all of the onboard equipment and wiring diagrams etc.
The hull was last blacked and anodes replaced in May 2016.
She is available now and has a Boat Safety Scheme certificate until October 2020. Viewings are by appointment only and are accompanied. This is a superb boat and will not be around for sale for long. Very keenly priced at £51,950 or very very near offer, do not mistake this for the usual mass produced boat – she is truly lovely.
